Reconstruction Construction

As the world changes more and more rapidly, why should buildings be so fixed and permanent? I already see ]perfectly good houses and office buildings get torn down to make way for some new and improved and more profitable endeavor. So why not buildings that can easily be dismantled, altered, modified, moved or otherwise rebuilt? Maybe it’s a modular system. Or maybe it’s gigundo Legos. Unsnap those girders, cart ’em off, resnap ’em together elsewhere. Turn a high-rise into a low-rise. Might make the most sense in coastal areas where global warming might raise the seas during a building’s lifetime.
