Ice Rougher

Suppose you’re in a hurry to make your icy sidewalks less dangerous. The stuff is way too hard to chop and shovel. What if you had an “ice rougher”? It wouldn’t remove the ice, it would just rough it up so it wasn’t so slippery. Wouldn’t have to be a separate tool. Option 1: Could be some attachment, or flip bar, for the end of the snow-shovel blade, with hard spiky, scratchy things you bang or slide. Option 2: Could be on some kind of heavy push roller. OK, true, salt does this, too, but this would be environmentally safer, more exercise (not a good idea for heart patients, of course), could work on slopes where salt bounces off, and/or would improve the effectiveness of salt.
